Sort order "thread start time"

Hello everybody!

First of all thanks for the new forum software, works for me like a charm! And, for what I can think of, must be a lot of hard work to get here - so thanks a lot for doing this!

But, what I was missing when reading the forums is a sort order "thread start time".

With the huge amount of new posts it's quite difficult for me to really see what's going on, if I can't sort it that way. But I couldn't find a button or a thing like that to get this.

So here's the way to do it:
ht*tp://celebutopia.net/forum/high-resolution-candids/?sort=first_post;desc

Just add the bold part to the url of the board you want to sort. If you leave the ;desc out, it will bring up the oldest post, with it, you get the newest thread start time post at the top.

If you go to any of the old boards url's you will be redirected to this new board and software. I recoded some of the pages last night to act as the old board urls.

Thanks for the work to fix up the forum

Defiant: I know it's early days but do you plan to disable the facebook/twitter/whatever integration on posts? It makes things run extremely slowly on loading a thread, I've had to block all those scripts from loading.

Budman: do you (or anyone else) happen to know how to restrict a forum to showing only the most recent x posts? ie in the URLs on the previous forum it was daysprune=xxx.

I remember reading on the SMF forums that you could add those kind of drop-downs to the forum by editing the forum software, so I think it has that sort function.

I'm sorry, I must be missing something. Posting that code doesn't sort anything for me. And I don't see any options anywhere to make it default to sort order by "thread start time". Is this possible? I've never seen a message board like this where the last post is the first. Find it really unusable. Any help here? Thanks.
