"Are these pictures NSFW?" - - - How to decide
Greenclay:
What's this? More rules? :nocheer: Nope, these are just some general guidelines.
As many of you already know, when you upload pictures to some image hosts, such as ImageVenue and ImageBam, you must classify your post as either "Family Safe" or "NSFW" (Not Safe For Work)
How do you decide if your post is NSFW or Family Safe?
Sometimes it's not so easy, right?
Here are some suggestions:
First, ask yourself the question - would you want your boss or some co-workers to catch you looking at these pictures while you are at work? If the answer is "No" then the pictures should be NSFW - and you shouldn't be looking at them at work anyway!
The general idea is this:
[*]If the pictures could be posted in the High Resolution Candids section, they are Family Safe. Think of it this way - if you could see pictures like these in magazines such as People, US, Ok!, Cosmopolitan, Paris Match, Le Monde, Elle, Der Spiegel, etc., they're probably ok for us to see here. :fat boy:
[*]If the pictures should not be posted in the High Resolution Candids section, they are Not Safe For Work. :hypocrite: [/LIST]
Nudity
We usually consider nudity to be at least topless. Some videos, and photo shoots, may show full frontal nudity - and that's clearly NSFW. Remember - nudity must be posted in the Elite section.
Thong bikinis
Since thongs are so common at the beach now, they're not so shocking any more; the pictures can probably go in the Candids section, even though they show so much bare skin. :woow:
See-through clothing, "Nip-slips," "Wardrobe malfunctions," "Upskirts," "Downblouses," "Side-boobs,"etc.
If a shirt or dress allows you to see all or part of a nipple, it's probably ok to post it in the Candids section. If a breast is completely exposed, it's NSFW. Upskirt shots in which the celebrity is not wearing panties are NSFW. Downblouse photos that completely show breasts are NSFW. Photos partially showing breasts from the side may be NSFW, but you should use your best judgment.
If you are not sure how to mark your upload, send a picture or two to one of the Moderators or Administrators and we will help you decide where the pictures should be posted.
Of course, if you have any questions, let us know. Thanks for posting! :waave:

right, so if pics are posted in candids (or shoots and so on) but uploaded with nsfw option, threads will be removed

Just to be sure everyone understand why this is important:
Let's say that you have some nice candids of your favorite celeb that you want to post, but you upload them to your host with "Image Content" set as "ADULT Content." When someone clicks on one of your thumbnails, the host may display your images surrounded with explicit porn advertisements. And because of that, your image will have to be removed, because we do not allow porn or NSFW content in Candids, Shoots, etc.
So pay attention when you are uploading that your images are not going to be labeled "ADULT" by your host.

My two cents. Imagevenue, which I have used almost exclusivley for the past 4 or 5 years, has been very consistant, and lately their service has been very quick, I do not agree with their family safe/adult choice that you must make before posting images, because they include their porn ads almost all the time no matter what the content. So, I have ignored their threats and posted all questionable or see thru content as family safe. I did choose adult for any nudes, but I don't post many nudes. Not one of my posts has been removed for the past 6 months.

Here's a little more info - and some help.
Some bulk image uploaders do not give you the option of choosing either NSFW or Family Safe. Because of this, when you upload to ImageVenue or ImageBam, the pictures are automatically marked as NSFW.
This is a real pain in the neck, so I've done a little investigating, and have found a couple of options that should get around this. Two free bulk uploading utilities do, in fact, offer a way to mark your posts properly - III Uploader and PicUp. III Uploader is a Russian product, and PicUp is a German product. Both seem to work pretty well.
PicUp
First, you'll notice that this is in German. They also offer English, Spanish, Polish and Russian. I'll explain how to change to these other languages.
--- Code: ---http://freene_t-h_omepage.de/vantools/PicUp.htm
--- End code ---
NOTE: You must remove the "_" characters from this link to get to the home page.
On the PicUp home page, first download the PicUp program, and, if needed, the alternate language of your choice. Make sure that you do not unzip the language file yet. Unzip the PicUp program to a directory of your choice, and then unzip (it's a .RAR file extension) to the same directory. When you run PicUp it will be in the language you have chosen.
Now, notice the drop-down list that shows ImageVenue as the selected option. This is the default, and it the Safe For Work option. If you click on this list, some other choices pop up. The next option on the list is imagevenue (not safe for work - nudity) Select this option only if you need to.

III Uploader
When you add pictures to the III Uploader upload list, you will see this screen:
Make sure that to check (select) the option "This set is safe for work (has NO mature content)" This should keep the porn ads from appearing.

These two utilities should be good bulk uploading alternatives for us. Please let us know if either or both of these programs work for you, or if you have problems. If you are using another utility that also provides the Family Safe / NSFW option, let us know about this, as well. Good luck.
